(RAM) Rapid Action Modifications

As a vendor, you may periodically receive emails stating that a RAM modification has been executed on your contract without much context for what has just been changed. A Rapid Action Modification (RAM) is an administrative modification initiated by either the vendor or GSA. These modifications are usually processed very quickly with little input or clarification from either party. When a RAM is completed, an email is sent to all Contracting Officer’s assigned to your contract and all authorized negotiators on the contract.

Typically, a RAM initiated by GSA is to delete a CO off your team and add a new one. To get specific details, log into eMod and check under “GSA Initiated Mods”. Look for the Mod ID# referenced in the email. Click on that modification and then download the SF 30. At the very bottom of the SF30 it will denote who was deleted and who was added. (If you do not see it under “GSA Initiated Mods” go ahead and check your “Completed"/History” section.

If this was not a GSA initiated modification, it is a mod submitted by the vendor to accomplish an administrative change on the contract: either to delete/add an authorized negotiator, change an email address or physical address, etc. Again, logging into eMod and checking under “Completed/History”, and scanning for the Mod ID# mentioned in the email will allow you to check into it further to see exactly what was executed.
