What is the MAS Consolidation?
(If you prefer to receive info by podcast, there is an episode on this topic found here.)
The MAS Consolidation has left many vendors confused- and rightfully so! There were a lot of changes that happened very quickly, so let’s break this down. GSA took the previously existing 24 separate GSA schedules (which were broken down by industry- Professional Services, Information Technology, etc.) and combined them into one all-inclusive schedule. All previously existing SINs have been completely overhauled as well to a new system that more closely matches NAICS codes. Some SINs were given just a facelift with a new number and title, while others have been combined, or deleted altogether. If you are curious about what legacy SINs were mapped to, or what new SINs you might be interested in adding to your schedule, you can look up GSA’s crosswalk here.
You may be wondering when this happened, or how your contract was switched over to the new world. GSA switched everyone over to the MAS Consolidated schedule right when you accepted Mass Mod #A812. Inside of this mod, you will see your legacy SINs, and the new SINs that you have been mapped over to. If you didn’t happen to take note of this, you can always look up what SINs you do have inside of Elibrary. If you believe there has been a mistake in what SINs you were mapped to, please do reach out to your Contracting Officer to make a plan to remedy the situation. Your Contracting Officer’s information will also be listed inside of Elibrary, under your company information as well.
Vendors with more than one contract will be consolidated into one schedule. GSA will begin paring contractors with multiple contracts down to one Contracting Officer for both, starting in Q4 of 2020. This new PCO is the person you will make a plan with to consolidate your contracts. Each vendor will be a unique case and have a different plan of attack. This is something to be strategizing and thinking about!
Every Contractor’s terms and conditions document must be updated by the end of March 2021. This means that your word catalog, AND the information that is manually typed into SIP will all need to be updated. SIP can be a tricky program to navigate, and if you find yourself in need of assistance please feel free to reach out to us, as we would be happy to help!
This Consolidation is a tremendous opportunity for vendors who have capabilities that span several different industries. Now your contract can be a one-stop shop with all SINs you qualify for found in one place!
